Christine Torp Handstanger has a PhD from NTNU/RWTH Aachen, with specialization in capacity calculations and bottleneck analyses of rail systems.
Languages: Norwegian, English, German and Dutch.
Experiences
Christine has extensive experience from work on pre-studies and reviews in the transportation sector. This includes analyses of both passenger and freight transport for rail systems, ports, stations and freight terminals. She also has experience with bottleneck analyses from the industry.
She has contributed to capacity analyses in a numbe of major technical plans for railways.
She is an Associate Professor and teaches railway capacity at The Norwegian University of Science and Technology.


RAIL
We carry out capacity analyses for rail systems, from preliminary studies to detailed plan. Either as an independent delivery or as part of a larger project. This implies, among other things:
• Mapping of capacity in existing infrastructure and bottleneck identification.
• Preparation of infrastructure measures.
• Analysis of planned infrastructure.
• Preparation of driving time calculations and route plans.
• Preparation of reports with good written and graphical representation.
• We can deliver analyzes in LUKS®.
Expertise in methods in capacity analysis. We master both analytical methods and simulation. We provide advice on which analytical methods should be chosen for the relevant planning phase.
Assistance as project manager of capacity studies or third-party control.
Training and teaching.

WATER
Capacity analyses of ports and terminals with regard to optimization of land utilization. In consultation with the client, suggestions are made for possible solutions for the rebuilding or redistribution of the areas. Assessment of access to the terminal.
Route plans, construction and analysis.

ROAD
Multimodal analysis. Terminal handling and commodity flow.

INDUSTRIAL
Mapping of logistics chains and calculating the capacity utilization of the individual elements in the chain. Identification of bottlenecks. Develop plans for streamlining production, specifying which elements should be expanded / reduced or redistributed.
